Navigating the Currents of Luxury and Leadership The Story of Silvia Iraghi

The Interior Design world is in an era where luxury meets conscious design and seamless project execution. Silvia Iraghi has emerged as a wave of high-end interiors in the elite domain of superyachts. Silvia is the founder and owner of Silvia Iraghi Interior Management. This boutique firm is redefining the meaning of delivering turnkey, refined, and personalized design solutions for clients who expect perfection.

With a desire to reclaim authenticity in her work, Silvia has cultivated a design and management studio. Her studio’s foundation is her ethics, responsibility, and creative integrity. Her journey is not only about an entrepreneurial journey but also a story of resilience, vision, and quiet rebellion in an industry dominated by traditional norms.

Reclaiming Values

Silvia’s journey began with a frustration that many creative professionals face: a disconnect between personal values and professional environments. “I started my company out of a need to realign the way I work with the values I believe in,” she shares. “Too often, I saw companies fail to uphold integrity in dealing with clients and projects.”

Her conviction led to the inception of Silvia Iraghi Interior Management, a one-stop solution for end-to-end luxury interior project management. Her business model is different from other firms as it takes full ownership of the entire lifecycle of a luxury interior project. Liaising with shipyards, brokers, and contractors plays a key role in making her firm the ultimate single point of contact for the clients. “The goal is to deliver peace of mind. Our clients don’t need to make ten calls; they make one, and we handle the rest,” she emphasizes.

Silvia’s love for the sea is not a preference rather it is a cornerstone of her career. She admits that the sea gives her energy and inspiration.  Her connection to space is equally intuitive. “When I walk into a room, I can immediately envision its potential. My mind instantly begins forming a team and a plan to make it happen.”

The dual connection between nature and architecture drew her toward yacht interiors. After studying interior architecture, she was attracted to the yachting world. She knew that her vision and talent could thrive in a unique, technically demanding environment.

Navigating Gender Dynamics With Grace

Entering the male-dominated world of shipbuilding and luxury yachts was not easy.  “In the beginning, people saw me as a young woman trying to show off,” she recounts. “Now, I’m more grounded. I choose the clients and collaborators I work with.”

Even today, Silvia faces moments where she is underestimated. “There are times when I’m discussing technical details, and men feel the need to explain things to me that I already know. But I don’t take it personally, it’s often cultural rather than intentional. The best response is to let them speak, and then carry on.”

Silvia’s leadership style is strategic and empathetic. She focuses on results and stays humble, this is why she has earned the respect of contractors and clients.

Boutique Excellence in Action

The services by Silvia Iraghi Interior Management include interior design, procurement, project management, and after-sales support. Her firm specializes in mega yachts but also handles high-end residential and real estate interiors.

Her firm’s project planning and execution model sets it apart from others. Silvia’s team is involved in every detail, be it analyzing the best shipyards and contractors to setting budgets and timelines. Her staff includes decorators, engineers, and project managers; they all work together with a trusted network of contractors.

“Each project is tailored,” Silvia explains. “We make it our mission to fully understand the client’s vision and deliver it with precision, efficiency, and elegance.”

Though every project is special for a creative professional like Silvia but her most ambitious project involved extending an 80-metre yacht to 90 metres and redoing over 1200 sq.m. of interiors. “The scale is massive, but the bigger challenge is managing a constantly changing client,” she admits. “Keeping teams motivated in such a dynamic environment is the real test.”

Silvia’s approach to design works on two principles: flexibility and transparency. She also motivates open communication about the project. “On complex projects, unexpected issues are inevitable. Hiding problems never helps. Owners appreciate honesty far more than silence.”

The Rise of Women in Yachting

Silvia is excited and encouraged by the increasing visibility of women in the yachting industry. “We are seeing more women in leadership and technical roles than ever before,” she says. “Organizations are realizing that diversity drives innovation.”

Her message to young women entering the field is loud and clear: Be fearless. Follow your passion. Learn everything. Don’t let anyone undervalue you. According to Silvia, women offer fresh perspectives that are essential for the industry’s evolution.

Eyes on the Future

As Silvia looks ahead, sustainability and smart technology are most important. “More clients are asking for eco-conscious materials and energy-efficient systems,” she says. “We’re also integrating smart technologies for lighting, climate control, and entertainment, offering owners seamless control with the touch of a button.”

Her company is investing in materials innovation, systemization of project management workflows, and crew training programs to ensure longevity and maintenance of the vessels. She envisions a future where design becomes more mindful and sustainable, merging luxury with responsibility. “We’re not just creating stunning spaces—we’re shaping how luxury coexists with the environment.”

Silvia is redefining what luxury interiors mean on water and also reshaping how women lead in spaces historically closed to them. Her message is one of bold authenticity: “Create with heart. Manage with honesty. Lead with vision.”
